Episode 4
To be 'adequate' in the world of privacy means that as a country, you get to join an exclusive club of countries that are deemed by the European Commission as having adequate personal data protections. Japan was the first country to be given an adequacy decision in January 2019, and Korea was most recently granted entrance to the club in December 2021. As Scott and I unpack the laws in these jurisdictions, we examine what they've done right, how they enforce their laws and the role that culture plays in privacy compliance.
